What IS in a Name?

Clearly our name is our branding tool. Let's take a look at some artists in the fashion world...Louis Vuitton, Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren, Duck Head! (giggles) poor guy had to live with that one eh?...(just kidding, I know duck head is a brand name, not a real person) But there you have it. Branding is the niche for most every actor, artist, singer, song writer, author etc. Did these well known people start out in life with a silver spoon in their mouth? Did they become famous because of their name? No. They, like evryone else started out working hard, selling themselves and what ever product they have to offer. Not unlike any of us in the network marketing field of work.

Some of us (network marketers) work as many as 12 to 16 hours a day! We set goals and reach for the "sky without limits", we know at some point and time we will touch on something that the world wants, needs, desires. Much the same way as Vera Wang, and Ralph Lauren. Their products are widely sought after and cost a small fortune due to the amount of money they have put into the branding of their name. Now I'm not suggesting that we all run out and begin spending money on T.V. and radio ads. I am suggesting that we pour our hearts and souls into what we believe in as being top notch product...Our Selves! In doing so our rise in the search engines will spider out reaching more and more folks interested in what we all have to say.

My name for instance, in the Gaelic origin, means rock. In the Hawaiian origin, my name means, awakening. Does this mean I'm an awakening rock? Hummm, could be! The pronounciation of my name is Lan-ah or Lawn-ah, personally I prefer Lan-ah. From another names and meanings site, goes on to say that my name is of Russian origin too. Does not give a meaning though. I'm not sure that mother knew all of this, seeing that she is of French decent and my father is of Indian decent. Mother tells me she chose my name from the actress Lana Turner, so go figure. I've added the site address from which I obtained this informaiton below. There are many other names and meaning sites out there so go look your name up. Have fun with it.

Knowing who we are, where we came from and most importantly, where we are going in using our name as a means to brand, is vital. Our businesses will thrive from our good name and reputation. Keep it well, and take very good care of it always! I've got mine written on all of my shirts so as not to loose it......(ta hehehe) Not true, kidding again! Just food for thought though. (being serious) You are your name! Market it with love and kindness. Always give something for nothing. A smile, a hand shake, a nod, some sort of gesture to show you acknowledge the person using your name. To all who are reading this, I give to you my heart felt smile, so big a smile that my eyes look like they are closed. <
Google me, Lana Benton to learn more about me. I look forward to hearing from you all soon.
Lana...(smiles)...Out!
